The Menstrual Equity Challenge

The Menstrual Equity Challenge is a concrete initiative led by Women in Sport and Iris + Arlo to make sports environments more inclusive for active girls and women.

It encourages organizations to provide menstrual products, include education, and normalize conversations about menstrual health, because menstruation should never be a barrier to participation, performance, or dignity.

What is Menstrual Equity?

Menstrual equity means that everyone has what they need to manage menstruation with dignity.

Menstrual equity is not symbolic — it is structural.

Menstruation should never determine whether someone participates, stays in sport, or feels like they belong:

60% of young female athletes report limiting or avoiding sports during menstruation.
1 in 5 women fears they may not be able to afford menstrual products next year.
Only 11% of female athletes feel comfortable talking about menstrual health with their coach.
